The Gilt Groupe, an online company that started off dominating the women's fashion scene, has now mentioned that it is expanding into the city. Over the past year, Gilt has introduced Gilt Men's, Gilt Travel, and even an I Phone application, that offers exclusive deals within each category. It's newest offering is deals within the City. Gilt City will offer deals on restaurants, salons, and other lifestyle businesses throughout NYC.
According to the article written by Fashionista's Lauren Sherman, "Initial deals have included 50% off dinner at Rouge Tomate and 50% off packages at Vartali Salon, a midtown spot beloved by Gilt founder Alexandra Wilkis Wilson."
I think it is very exciting that Gilt has been able to dominate the area of online sales in a time where the economy is so unstable.
